Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje yesterday presented the first-class staff of office to four new Emir despite the reign of Emir Sanusi II whose relationship with the Governor is presently in the balance.
He began the ceremony by presenting the staff of office to Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, as the Emir of Bichi Emirate Council. Aminu is one of the eldest sons of the late Emir of Kano Ado Bayero.
Other Emirs who were presented with the first-class staff of honor are Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II as Emir of Karaye Emirate Council, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila as Emir of Rano Emirate Council and Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir as Emir of Gaya Emirate Council.
The Governor congratulated the newly appointed Emirs and assure them of the government support in working towards the welfare of their people.
The people expressed their joy and thank the Governor for upgrading their monarchs.
