Lagos State government on Monday announced that it has successfully treated and discharged five coronavirus patients at Infectious disease Centre, Yaba Mainland Hospital.
This brings to eight the entire number of discharged patients from the centre, after being quarantined at the isolation centre for weeks.
The discharged patients expressed joy and satisfaction over the treatment they received.
While thanking the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support and proactiveness, they pleaded that the workers at the Centre should tend life assurance.
While chatting with reporters, one among the patients said;
"I came in here on the 15th and after the test showed positive, I used to be asked to return back subsequent day. So I used to be admitted here."Initially, there have been hitches but it later clothed fine. The doctors did fine; all our challenges were attended to. I’m a living witness along side my other colleagues."
He gave a powerful hope, saying people shouldn't panic because the virus can be defeated as he urges the infected patients to obey the recovery procedures by taking their drugs and with no time they will get better.
“We can beat it. I would like to assure others that this is often not their resting place. Encourage yourselves, take your medications and in no distant time, you'll get out of here.“I want to appeal to the federal and Lagos government that, they ought to remunerate all those workers who have volunteered to figure accordingly, so on function encouragement to others, adding that, “If they're not here as first responders, many would have died,” he said.
Another patient said as he narrated a scenario where the workers couldn't attend to him around 3a.m because he tested positive, saying that he went back and slept off.
“I was admitted last Sunday. Initially there have been challenges, the subsequent day, they brought bed, mask and a few equipment.“Apart from what my colleague said, the workers should be insured. Proper insurance will let people do what they need to try to do."They deserve life assurance to encourage them to try and do their job," he said.
