The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has given a fresh update on the new confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded in the country on Friday 23rd May 2020.
The center discloses this in a tweet via its official Twitter page @NCDCgov, where it stated that Nigeria recorded 265 new confirmed cases of the novel virus, as 167 infected patients tested negative and were discharged, with zero death case recorded.
According to the tweet released by NCDC, which also includes a breakdown of the new COVID-19 cases by states, shows that Lagos State alone recorded 133 additional cases, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 3357.
Other states that recorded new COVID-19 cases are Oyo - 34, Edo - 28, Ogun - 23, FCT Abuja - 22, Plateau - 6, Kaduna - 5, Borno, and Niger recorded three cases each, 2 cases were recorded in each of Kwara, Bauchi, Anambra, and Enugu.
As at the time of compiling this report, Nigeria has now recorded total infectious cases of 7526 (Seven thousand, five hundred and twenty-six), with 2174 infected persons treated and discharged, and 221 death cases recorded so far.
