The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has released an update of the new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria on Friday 15th May 2020.
The centre announced this via it verified Twitter page @NCDCgov, where it stated that Nigeria recorded 288 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 5445 (Five thousand, four hundred and forty-five).
According to the tweet released by the NCDC, a total of 179 cases were recorded in Lagos State alone, 20 in Kaduna, 15 in Katsina, 15 in Jigawa, 13 in Borno, 11 in Ogun, 8 in Kano, 7 in FCT, 4 in Niger, 4 in Ekiti, 3 in Oyo, 3 in Delta, 3 in Bauchi, 2 in Kwara, and 1 case in Edo State.
The centre also released the total breakdown of coronavirus (COVID -19) confirmed cases per states, where Lagos State still leads with a total of 2278 cases followed by Kano State having a total of 761 cases so far.
From the report, Nigeria has now recorded a total number of 5445 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1320 infected persons treated and discharged, and 171 death cases recorded so far.
