The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has released a fresh updates on the new cases of coronavirus (#COVID-19) recorded in the country on Sunday, 17th January 2020.
The disease management centre, announced that Nigeria recorded a total of 1,444 new cases of #COVID19 in 21 states including it Federal Capital, FCT Abuja.
According to the NCDC, 15 new death cases were recorded within the space of 24hours, and 3,950 infected patients were discharged from isolation centres in the country.
A breakdown by state confirmed that Lagos State recorded 901, Plateau-136, Kaduna-57, FCT-54, Ebonyi-53, Akwa Ibom-52, Nasarawa-32, Osun-29, Ogun-28, Imo-16, Oyo-16, Edo-15, Kano-14, Rivers-10, Ekiti-7, Borno-6, Abia-5, Benue-4, Yobe-4, Kebbi-3, and Anambra-2.
Lagos State, the largest city in Africa and the major financial centre in the country has now recorded a total of 40, 624 cases of the novel virus, followed by FCT Abuja at 14,598.
As at the time of composing this reports, Nigeria has now recorded a total of 110,387 cases of coronavirus (#COVID-19), 89,317 infected patients have been treated and discharged, while a total of 1,435 death cases haved been recorded so far.
