The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken it decision on the re-run of Kogi west senatorial district election, after Senator Dino Melaye stormed the office with 21 video clips of irregularities during the previous election held in the state.
The electoral commission in a statement on Tweeter said it has fixed Saturday, November 30, 2019 for the conduct of a supplementary and re-run election in the Kogi west senatorial district.
The statement read:
''INEC met today 21st November 2019 and fixed 30th Nov 2019 for the conduct of Supplementary and re-run elections for Kogi west Senatorial District and Ajaokuta Federal Constituency respectively.''
APC candidate, Senator Adeyemi had earlier been announced as the winner of the previous election, beating Senator Dino Melaye of the People's Democracy Party (PDP) to the seat of the Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district.
A re-run will now be conducted as Senator Dino Melaye stormed INEC office rejecting the previous result with some video clips in his custody.
