Barely 24 hours after the Nigeria PHCN staffs declared that it has embarked on a nationwide strike to draw the Federal Government’s attention to the plights of its members; the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has reportedly suspended its strike action.
According to reports reaching Mackenzieskyblog, this suspension was announced shortly after a meeting with officials of the Federal Government where the union agreed that it would discontinue the one-day-old strike action.
The National President of NUEE, Comrade Joe Ajaero disclosed this to Newsmen after a brief meeting with the FG.
He said that the workers’ grievances were conclusively addressed.
“We have concluded deliberations and all issues were addressed but we are awaiting implementation. Meanwhile, our strike action is suspended,” Ajaero said.
The strike action led to the shutting down of most of the offices of Distribution Companies (Discos) across the country
