EFCC's Spokesman, Tony Orilade stated this in an announcement that Turaki, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his assistant, would be summoned before Justice Inyang Ekwo on a 16-count charge for alleged N20billion fraud.

Mr. Sampson Okpetu, who also served as the Special Assistant to the ex-Minister will also be arraigned together with his companies; Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited.

The statement reads:
“The EFCC will today, Monday, May 4, 2020, summon the former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN over multi-million fraud.

“He will be summoned before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High court, sitting in Abuja on a 16 count charge.

“Turaki, SAN, was the Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs from 2013 to 2015. He likewise filled in as the Supervising Minister of Labor from 2014 to 2015.
