The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that 146 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country on Tuesday 12th May 2020, taking the total confirmed cases to 4787.
The center confirmed this in a tweet via its verified Twitter page @NCDCgov, where it stated that Nigeria recorded 146 new cases of the ravaging coronavirus (COVID-19).
From the breakdown tweeted by the NCDC, 57 cases were reported in Lagos State, 27 in Kano, 10 in Kwara, 9-Edo, 8 in Bauchi, 7 in Yobe, 4 in Kebbi, 4 in Oyo, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Niger, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Borno, 2 in Sokoto, 2 in Benue, 1 in Gombe, 1 in Enugu, 1 in Ebonyi, 1 in Ogun, 1 in FCT, and 1 in Rivers State.

According to the NCDC, Nigeria now has a total of 4787 (Four thousand, seven hundred and eighty-seven) cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), 959 (Nine hundred and fifty-nine) infected persons have been treated and discharged, with 158 (One hundred and fifty-eight) death cases recorded so far.
