The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has announced a fresh update of the reported number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in the country on Tuesday 26th May 2020.
The center made this announcement in a tweet via its official Twitter account @NCDCgov, where it discloses that Nigeria recorded 276 new cases of the novel virus, with 16 additional death cases recorded within 24 hours.
From the breakdown released by NCDC, Lagos State alone recorded 161 new cases, 36 in Rivers, 27 in Edo, 19 in Kaduna, 10 in Nasarawa, 6 in Oyo, 4 in Kano, 3 in Delta, 3 in Ebonyi, 2 in Gombe, and 1 case was recorded in each of Ogun, Ondo, Borno, Abia, and Bauch State.
According to NCDC, Nigeria now has a total of 8,344 (Eight thousand, three hundred and forty-four) confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 2,385 (Two thousand, three hundred and eighty-five) infected persons treated and discharged, and 249 fatalities recorded so far.
