Actress Angelina Jolie Talks Honoring The ‘Roots’ Of Her Adopted Children

American actress and filmmaker, Angelina Jolie has revealed her stance on whether she can allow her adopted children to visit their country and home of origin.

The mother of six, whose eldest three children Maddox Chivan, 18, Pax Thien, 16, and Zahara Marley, 15, hail from Cambodian, Vietnamese and Ethiopian, discusses her family dynamic, including the importance of adoptive parents honoring the "root" and "race" of their children.

In a new interview with Vogue, the Oscar-winner said that adoption and orphanage are positive words in her family and with her three adopted kids, she can not get bothered about getting pregnant.

She said: 

“Each is a beautiful way of becoming family. 

“What is important is to speak with openness about all of it and to share. ‘Adoption’ and ‘orphanage’ are positive words in our home. 

"With my adopted children, I can’t speak of pregnancy, but I speak with much detail and love about the journey to find them and what it was like to look in their eyes for the first time.”

The Hollywood highest-paid female actress urged adoptive parents to give the child freedom to explore, honour their roots and allow them to visit where they come from, especially when they desire it.

“All adopted children come with a beautiful mystery of a world that is meeting yours.

“When they are from another race and foreign land, that mystery, that gift, is so full. 

"For them, they must never lose touch with where they came from. They have roots that you do not. Honor them. Learn from them. It’s a most amazing journey to share.

 “They are not entering your world, you are entering each other’s worlds,” She added.

Jolie's also has 3 biological daughters, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11, with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
