World heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua joined demonstrators in his hometown of Watford to protest against racism and police brutality following the death of #GeorgeFloyd.
Joshua who suffered a left knee injury while running, matches on the Black Lives Matter protest on the high street of my hometown of Watford limping and wailing with the aid of crutches.
He delivered a powerful speech at the #BlackLiveMatter rally which took place in New York.
"Stand united against the virus that has been instrumental in taking lives."The virus I am referring to is called racism, not COVID-19."How long are we going to allow racism to spread through our communities."You are the vaccine, I am the vaccine."Killing a person outright is unforgivable."But stripping them of their human rights, oppressing them, mocking them, insulting them, placing glass ceilings above them... is just a slower way of killing them and taking the life out of their soul," Joshua told the crowd.
According to a source, he suffered no ligament tears and will be expected to resume training in 4-6 weeks time in other to prepare for his title defense verse Kubrat Puley slated for around November.
Mackenzieskyblog recalls that tennis legend, Boris Becker also took part in the Black Lives Matter protests in Britain, joining a growing list of high-profile sportsmen to show their public support for the movement.
