The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday 6th May 2020, released a fresh update on the recent COVID-19 cases recorded in Nigeria.
The health management centre announced this new development via its verified Twitter page @NCDCgov, where it stated that Nigeria recorded 389 new cases of the novel coronavirus virus (COVID-19).
The centre also released the breakdown of cases per states, where it said that 66 new cases were recorded in Lagos State, FCT Abuja-50, Delta-32, Oyo-31, Borno-26, Rivers-24, Edo-23, Ebonyi-23, Anambra-17, Gombe-17, Nasarawa-14, Imo-12, Kano-12, Sokoto-12, Jigawa-8, Ogun-7, Bauchi-5, Kebbi-2, Kaduna-2, Katsina-2, Ondo-2, Abia-1, and Niger-1.
According to the report, within the space of 24 hours, 130 infected patients have been confirmed negative to the virus and were discharged from the isolation centre. While a total of 9 new death cases were recorded.
Mackenzieskyblog understands that Nigeria has now recorded a total number of 12,233 confirmed cases of the ravaging Coronavirus since the index case hits the country. 3,826 infected patients have been treated and discharged, and 342 death cases recorded so far.
