"Between 1999 and 2007, Nigeria Paid Off Her Entire Foreign Debt" - Atiku Lauds His Presidential Reign With Obasanjo

Nigerian politician and businessman, Atiku Abubakar has driven back to memory lane during his time as the Vice President of Nigerian under the leadership of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying he is proud of what they did together for the good of the nation.

Atiku said this in a tweet via his verified Twitter page, where he said that Nigeria was able to pay off all its outstanding debt from abroad during his reign with Olusegun Obasanjo.

Atiku who described the period as 'National Restoration' added that in their eight years in office, the country maintained an unprecedented 6% annual GDP growth in all facets of the nation's economy.

He said that all of that achievements was possible because he and Obasanjo were managing a nation that they care so much about.

"Between 1999 and 2007, Nigeria paid off her entire foreign debt while maintaining an unprecedented 6% annual GDP growth. 

"Those were periods of national restoration, and I am very proud of the work President Obasanjo and I did for this nation we care so much for. Facts don't lie," Atiku tweeted

Nigerians have taken to his comment section to say their opinion about his claims. While some Nigerians were confirming the fact as true, some were listing the failures and difficult times Nigerians endured during their reign.
