US President, Joe Biden began his first day in office by deleting a few activities of previous President Donald Trump, including lifting a travelling ban placed on Nigeria and other nations.
In his first executive orders, Biden switched Trump’s approaches on the Covid-19 pandemic, immigration, and climate change.
He canceled the ban which restricted travel to the U.S. from mostly Muslim nations.
The nations on the list are Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Chad, North Korea, Venezuela, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania.
Biden also made mask wearing in all federal buildings and during interstate travel mandatory.
“It’s requiring, as I said all along, where I have authority, mandating masks be worn, social distancing be kept on federal property,” the President told reporters.
He likewise requested that America officially rejoin the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris atmosphere understanding.
Biden also put and end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s actions that cause family separation in the state, and put a stop to the ongoing construction of the wall along the US-Mexico border.
He also talked about plans to give quick monetary help to the large numbers of Americans who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
Biden signed another bill to address racial disparities and inequities inside the U.S. government and its operations.
He inked a decree directing the bureaucratic organization to conduct surveys and separate any racial disparities in how government assets are allotted.
This breaks down the 1776 Commission, a Trump executive board set up last September.
