Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has taken to social media to slam her colleague in the industry, Baba Ijesha who was alleged to have molested a 14-year-old minor.
According to reports from the police, Baba Ijesha might be released on bail on Friday since there is no substantial evidence to prove that he indeed raped the young girl in question hence they can't keep him hostage.
Reacting to this, the award-winning actress condemned those supporting the actor saying that the fact that there is no substantial evidence yet doesn't mean he is not guilty of the act.
In her post on Instagram, Mercy Aigbe was furious that justice wasn’t served as expected hence shaming Baba Ijesha for being a disgrace to Nollywood for getting involved with a child in the first place and harassing her.
According to Mercy Aigbe, the fact that no substantial evidence was found during the investigation doesn’t mean he didn’t do what he’s been accused of and moreover, the young girl wouldn’t have pointed him as the perpetrator if it wasn’t true.
To Mercy Aigbe, the fact that the young victim recognized and named him as the perpetrator means he actually molested her because there’s no way she would lie against him for anything but it’s unfortunate there’s no substantial evidence to that.
Mercy Aigbe then warned that no one should come and tell her that Baba Ijesha hasn’t been pronounced guilty by the court of law so has no right to condemn him as a lot of people are set free by the law court even if they commit a crime.
