Founder of Loveworld Ministries, Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome explains that falling in love with a partner prior to marriage is fine, but it is more vital to choose to love your partner while in the marriage.
According to Pastor Chris, it is false teaching to get married only when you are in love with your partner.
"I know that a lot of people say that a man and woman should get married, only when they love each other. That's false teaching.
"What about people, who their parents arranged for them to get married and are still together?
"Should such people get divorced, simply because they didn't love each other, in the beginning?
"The Bible says that a man should love his wife and a woman should love her husband. This instruction is predicated on the fact the two people are already married, not necessarily for the single people. Check the scriptures for yourself.
"Love before marriage is a good thing, but more importantly, love is a choice.
"As a pastor, I have seen couples who been together for 40 years divorce. What was the problem? They simply stopped loving each other.
"Brothers and sister, before you get married, please make a decision to love your partner even in marriage. This is very important."
