Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that he will be giving out an economic stimulus package to Lagosians in other to assist its residents to stay alive and healthy as they observe the #StayAtHome directive by the federal government.
The governor said that the primary stage will be to reach out to about 200,000 households in the state at an estimation of 6 persons per household.
He said;
"I am happy to announce an economic stimulus package to help our residents cushion the effects of our #StayAtHome directive to stop the spread of #COVID19."This first stage is targeting 200,000 households at an estimation of 6 people per household. We hope to ramp it up quickly."
Sanwo-Olu added that the state will have to choice but to lock down total activities if the virus spreads to an uncontrollable number of cases.
As at the time of this report, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that the number of confirmed cases has risen to 81, with 11 cases newly reported, 8 cases in Lagos, 2 cases in Enugu, and 1 case in Edo state.
