Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, has announced the death of another COVID-19 patient in a private emergency clinic in the state.
Prof. Abayomi revealed this in a tweet via his official Twitter handle on Saturday, where he disclosed that the deceased died of COVID-19 in a private hospital.
He went further to urge Lagosians to continue obeying the rules set to help combat the spread of the virus in Lagos State.
He tweeted:
"We are however saddened by the death of another patient from Covid-19 related complications in a private hospital in Lagos."Please keep obeying social distancing rules to stay safe for a greater Lagos."
However, Abayomi added that 46 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far in Lagos State.
The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recently announced seventeen new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, taking the total tally in the country to 305, with 58 patients treated and discharged, and 7 death cases recorded.
