The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed an additional 245 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with Lagos leading the chart with 76 New cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 2802.
The centre announced this via its Twitter handle where it stated that 2802 New cases of COVID-19 were reported, 417 patients treated and discharge so far, and 93 death recorded.
The centre also gave a total breakdown of the number of confirmed cases recorded per states on 4th May 2020.
Lagos State recorded 76, Katsina 37, Jigawa 32, Kano 23, FCT 19, Borno 18, Edo 10, Bauchi 9, Adamawa 6, Oyo 5, Ogun 5, Ekiti 1, Osun 1, Benue 1, Niger 1, and Zamfara 1.
These results were recorded on the same day Nigerians resumed back to work after a three weeks stay at home lockdown declared by the federal government.
Following the President Buhari's directives that the lockdown will be eased on the 4th May 2020, even with some strict safety measures put in place to prevent the spread of the virus, the amount recorded was a little above the one recorded the previous day.
