The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that Nigeria on Wednesday 5th April 2020, recorded a total of 195 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 3145.
The center gave the confirmation of this new development via it verified Twitter page, where it stated that 195 new cases of COVID-19 were reported with Lagos State leading the chart with 82 new cases, Kano 30 new cases, Zamfara 19 new cases, Sokoto 18 new cases, Borno 10 new cases, FCT Abuja 9 new cases, Oyo 8 new cases, Kebbi and Gombe recorded 5 new cases each, Ogun 4 new cases, Katsina 3 new cases, Kaduna and Adamawa recorded 1 case each.
According to the NCDC, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has now hit a total of 3145 (Three thousand, one hundred and forty-five), 534 infected persons have been treated and discharged, and total death cases of 103 recorded so far.
From the breakdown per state chart released by NCDC, Lagos State now have a total of 1308 number of confirmed cases, followed by Kano State with 427 number of confirmed cases. Anambra State remains the only state with the least number of cases in the country with only 1 case confirmed so far, while the only state in the country without the virus is Cross River.
