The center made this announcement at the late hours of Thursday in a tweet via it verified Twitter page @NCDC gov, where it disclosed that 339 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported across the country, bringing the tally to 7016 (Seven thousand and sixteen).
According to the NCDC, of the 339 new cases of COVID-19 recorded, Lagos State recorded 139 alone, bringing the total recorded infectious cases in the state to 3,093. The highest recorded when compared to other states.
Other states which recorded new cases of the novel virus were; Kano (28), Oyo (28), Edo (25), Katsina (22), Kaduna (18), Jigawa (14), Yobe (13), Plateau (13), FCT Abuja (11), Gombe (8), Ogun (5), Bauchi (4), Nasarawa (4), Delta (3), Ondo (2), Rivers (1), and Adamawa (1).
As at the time of compiling this report, Nigeria has now recorded a total number of 7,016 COVID-19 cases across the 36 states, including the FCT Abuja. 1,907 infected persons have been treated and discharged, and a total of 211 death cases recorded so far.
