Fatal Accident On Otedola Bridge, One Dead And Seven Others Injured - LASTMA

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) announced that a fatal accident involving a tanker and a fully loaded commercial Mazda bus occurred on Otedola Bridge this morning.  The authority made the announcement in a tweet via it Twitter page @followlastma, where it disclosed that the crash happened around 9:00am on Thursday at the lane inward Berger and a number of motorists are feared killed.

The authority made the announcement in a tweet via its Twitter page @followlastma, where it disclosed that the crash happened around 9:00am on Thursday at the lane inward Berger and a number of motorists are feared killed.

The accident is said to have caused heavy traffic up beyond the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja.

"Fatal accident on Otedola Bridge in Berger involving a tanker and a fully loaded Mazda bus. All relevant emergency agencies alerted. Traffic backlog building up beyond Secretariat," LASTMA tweeted.

MackenzieSkyBlog gathered that one person was confirmed dead and seven persons injured and have been transported to the nearest hospital.

According to the tweet released by LASTMA, a Golf car was also involved in the crash but there were no reported casualties from the car.

"Preliminary reports confirm that a Golf car was also involved in the crash. No casualties from the car. One passenger from the bus confirmed dead with seven others injured," LASTMA added

All relevant emergency agencies were alerted and have reportedly arrived at the scene to maintain balance.
