COVID-19 Alert - Nigeria Records 338 New Cases, 177 In Lagos Alone, Total Now 5959

According to the NCDC, Lagos State alone recorded 177 new cases of the virus, 64 in Kano, 21 in FCT Abuja, 16 in Rivers, 14 in Plateau, 11 in Oyo, 9 in Katsina, 4 in Jigawa, 4 in Kaduna, 3 in Abia, 3 in Bauchi, 3 in Borno, 2 in Gombe, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 2 in Delta, 1 case in Ondo, Kebbi and Sokoto State respectively.  The centre also released the total breakdown of COVID-19 cases by states, with Lagos State leading the chart with a total of 2550 confirmed cases, followed by Kano State with 825 total cases.  Nigeria has now recorded a total of 5959 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 1594 infected persons treated and discharged from it isolation centres, and a total death cases of 182 reported so far.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has released an update of the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Nigeria on 17th May 2020.

The centre gave the reported via it verified Twitter page @NCDCgov, where it stated that 338 (Three hundred and thirty-three) new cases of the novel virus (COVID-19) were recorded in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 5959 (Five thousand, nine hundred and fifty-nine).
