Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari |
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina has announced that Buhari will not be addressing the nation today amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
MackenzieSkyBlog recalled that during an interview with Channels TV Sunday Politics, the national coordinator of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, Aliyu Sanni said that President Buhari will address Nigerians on Monday 18th, May 2020.
According to Sanni, President Buhari will be addressing Nigerians on whether there will be an extension (Second phase) of nationwide lockdown, as the first phase of the easing of lockdown comes to an end today.
However, in a recent tweet released by Mr. Femi Adesina via his official Twitter handle, he disclosed that there won't be a national broadcast by the President today as none was initially planned and that the Presidential Task Force will brief the nation on the next steps.
"No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps," he tweeted.
