The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has given a fresh update on the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the country, reporting an increase of 108 new cases; taking the tally to 981 confirmed cases in Nigeria.
The NCDC made this announcement via it official Twitter page, where it stated that 108 new cases of COVID-19 were reported; 78 cases were recorded in Lagos State, 14 in FCT Abuja, 5 in Ogun State, 4 in Gombe State, 3 in Borno State, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 1 case in both Kwara and Plateau State.
The NCDC also gave the breakdown of the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases per states, with Lagos State leading the chart with a mammoth 582 confirmed cases followed by FCT Abuja with 133 cases. The state's with only 1 case of COVID-19 are Benue, Anambra, Sokoto, Adamawa, and Plateau State.
With the daily increase of the virus in the country despite the total lockdown of economic activities, the Nigeria Governors Forum have resolved on a 14 days inter-state lockdown so as to help curb the spread of the virus.
