According to The Nation, Anambra State Government has loosened up the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 in the state, a month after it was announced. 

The lockdown was a piece of the measures taken by the government to check the spread of coronavirus in the state. 

Gov. Willie Obiano, who announced the loosening of the lockdown in a live broadcast on Saturday, in any case, said that all borders of the state leading to its neighboring states stay shut. 

Obiano said Churches were presently permitted to hold services however with the instruction that all worshipers must wear face covers and observe all standing safety and preventive measures as recommended by the World Health Organisation(WHO) specialists. 

The Governor said all food and medication vendors in the state will now be open with immediate effect. 

Obiano said he will be meeting with those in charge of organizing the market places on April 27 on the development. 

He further said that the reopening of schools and civil service would be declared soon. 

He said: 

“Worshipers must wear face masks and enforce all World Health Organisation guidelines during worship, including, regular hand washing, avoiding handshakes, application of hand sanitisers, social distancing and others.

“Movements around Anambra has been relaxed but all boundaries of the state remain closed.” (NAN)

MackenzieSkyBlog recalls that Anambra State ordered the lockdown of economic activities after it recorded its first confirmed case of the ravaging COVID-19.
