Two Feared Dead As Youths Attacks Police In Anambra State

Two people were feared dead in a conflict between the police and a gathering of adolescents in Nkpor, close Onitsha, Anambra state. The Nation reports 

Report reaching MackenzieSkyBlog has it that the deceased was purportedly shot by the police after they (Police) were apparently assaulted with corrosive. 

An occupant of the zone, who professed to be an observer, favored obscurity, said just a single death was recorded in the incident. 

"They are two in number but one was rushed to the medical clinic as indicated by report the one rushed to the hospital couldn't make it. He is dead as of now," he said. 

The police representative, Haruna Mohammed, affirmed the report, portraying it as an unmerited assault on the Police watch group. 

He said efforts were ongoing to reestablish mental soundness in the zone. 

He stated: 

"It was an unmerited assault on Police watch group with substance suspected to be corrosive by some miscreants. 

"Indeed they grabbed the rifle of the Policeman subsequent to pouring corrosive on him which provoked the other police officers to utilize power and recovered the rifle."
