Victor Osimhen |
Lille forward Victor Osimhen has conceded he needs to play for a major club in England after Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo sent the youngster counsel over his future.
Osimhen who has been in fine form for the French side this season following the departure of Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal in the late spring has scored 13 times in 27 appearances.
Because of his amazing performance, the 21-year-old has been connected with an exit to a big club and has emerged as a target for Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ighalo tipped Osimhen to turn into "the eventual fate of football" and uncovered the Nigeria striker was in the crowd watching United's triumph against Club Brugge in the Europa League.
Osimhen has reacted to Ighalo's message, saying thanks to him for his applause and conceding a transition to the Premier League is his long-term dream.
During an interview with Independent he said;
"Obviously, one day I'd prefer to play for a major club in England."I've addressed Odion [Ighalo] about it. He offered me excellent guidance, he's a legend and an elder sibling."I will probably play at perhaps the greatest club on the planet but now I'm very happy in Lille."My need is to play a ton of games. Signing for a major club and being on the seat isn't energizing for me."
