The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has given a detailed explanation of those that are liable to be tested for the ravaging Coronavirus.
The Health administration center disclosed this via its official Twitter handle, where it stated that testing is conducted for only 3 categories of people presenting with #COVID19 symptoms.
- Contacts of confirmed cases:
Those people that have come in contact with Coronavirus confirmed patients.
- Residents in areas of the moderate-high prevalence of #COVID19:
Those people residing in areas that have been reported to have moderate to high numbers of confirmed cases.
- Recent returnees:
Those people that recently returned back to the country from other countries, especially from countries with high reported cases of Coronavirus.
As at 11:00pm on the 14th April 2020, the NCDC announced that 11 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from Lagos State, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 373, with 11 death cases.
